It is extremely gratifying to know that this book is receiving very good response by students and teachers. The book has been thoroughly reviewed, revised, corrected and updated considering the feedback received from the users of the book and the changes that have happened in National Plans, Policies, Approaches, Strategical Interventions, Further Developments, etc. with reference to Healthcare Delivery System, National Programmes for Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases and Health Programmes.

Chapter 3 on Historical Developments on Community Health Nursing is updated by adding information on Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Five-Year Plans. Chapter 11 on Maternal and Child Health is thoroughly, reviewed and updated. Additional information on Maternal Mortality and Maternal Health Care, Child Health Problems, Child Mortality, Child Survival, Index and Child Care are added. The RCH and its related programmes are updated.

All the National Health Programmes presented in Chapter 21 (Chapter 20 in Previous Edition) are thoroughly reviewed and updated and some of the programmes are re-organized as felt necessary.

Though the Author has tried her level best to have comprehensive and up-to-date exhaustive content yet it is not possible to be so and it is expected to supplement it by referring National and International Reports, Papers and Journals, etc. as mentioned earlier as well.
